OUR HISTORY   back to main history
Some personal stories of why Jesus called us, where we came from and why most of us are still here.   (Dick)

Haskell told me a story about a time he called Dick on the phone and disguised his voice, talking like a crazy person. Dick said, "come over and we can talk…" Haskell, still disguising his voice said, "I don't know…I'm pretty weird…" Dick told him, "We're all weird man, but there's room for all of us at God's table."

Never heard Dick teach, but saw him many times at weddings, and other gatherings. You didn't have to hear him "teach" to know that he was touched and saved by Jesus and wanted the same for everyone he met. It's no wonder why we're still talking about these people. What a relief.

I thank the Lord always for Dick Bieber,he was the one that led me to the Lord.I had lived across the street from him for a number of years.I have so many stories about this dear man in my heart. But here is a little known fact ,Dick,Haskell and little insignificant me shared the same birthday. How crazy is that.

Our brother Fito who lived at the Hubbard House with us told Dick once "I don't want to upset you but it seems the church (the believers) are as weird as the world". Dick replied " Weirder Fito, we come in, many damaged badly Jesus came to heal the sick" I remind myself of that conversation when I judge others or get too full of myself.

I remember Phyllis Stroh holding the dead body of her daughter, Nancy, in her arms as she sat on the floor of Nancy’s apartment, weeping and praising God and thanking him for his goodness.
“Yet will I praise thee!” Dick Bieber

I get the Maranatha Mirror in my email twice a week. A wonderful gift. On top of that Dick has been my mentor for the last 7 years. When I get stuck, I email him and he always answers me. He has been such a blessing in my life. Thousands of miles cannot separate us when Jesus has brought us together!!

Dick, for the past 12 years, has listened to my heartache and always has a good Word to tell me. He is a man of prayer and for that I am SO grateful. God has truly gifted him with teaching, right up to the minute teaching, always a fresh Word from the Lord for us.

Dick will be 88 in December. Gene will be 89. I call Dick about every 2 months or so. He and Gene still sound sharp. He is a the truest shepherd of the sheep than I have ever encountered.

Last time I talked with Dick he said, "I'll be praying for Sue and you. I hope you're praying for me too." After I hung up I thought what in the world am I going to pray for him?

Exactly! What Milton said. At age 88, continued health and wisdom are absolutely essential as he continues to minister to us and so many others. Also, continued health for his own benefit.

Dick has kept my family bathed in prayer (DAILY!) for at least the last 33 years. I can't even imagine such love for the flock! I'm hoping he be one of the two prophets they can't kill. (Lord hold up the arms that are up on our account. Give strength and wisdom in these latter years)

(not the end...)
